Display OLE in Layout DXL

I want to be able to display the OLE in the object text from another linked module in a layout dxl column. Is this possible?

Yep - it sure is.

Use the probeRichAttr_ function

probeRichAttr_(Object o, string attrName, bool showOLE)

Where o is a handle to the object at the other end of the link, attrName is the name of the attribute you want to display, showOLE is used to display\not display OLE that might be in attrName (I think bool showOLE might actually be an optional argument)

e.g. probeRichAttr_(othero, "Object Text", true)

Best way to see how this function is set up is to use the built in Analysis Wizard to create a DXL Layout trace column and then check out the generated DXL code - from the module menu select Analysis > Wizard - as you progress through the Wizard pages you'll come across a check box option "include OLE objects in text" - select this. Have a look at the DXL code that is generated and look for the probeRichAttr_ function

... and instead of 'display' use
displayRichWithColor(string)
displayRich(string)

Maybe we could start the VDSRE: "v8 Deprived Society of Requirents Engineers".
